Sand Blasting
Sand Blasting is another Tip-Top Industrial surface cleaning method. It propels sand and high-pressured air at high speeds through a nozzle onto the surface to be cleaned. This abrasive type of cleaning, when used properly, can be a low-cost and highly effective cleaning method for the removal of paint, rust, corrosion, dirt and even surface discolorations.
Applications
- Building and industrial hardware;
- Hydraulic works; waterworks (gate locks, hydraulic locks);
- Transportation constructions (automobile and railway bridges, overpasses and tunnels), and pipelines;
- Constructions made of brick, concrete, reinforced concrete, granite, etc.;
- Various tanks (automobile and railway tanks, steel tanks).
Special applications
Sand Blasting can be used to create certain desirable decorative effects to the surface. When cleaning or repairing old brickwork we can retain its original decorative look. New wooden surfaces can also be ‘aged’ or ‘worn out’ for a decorative effect.
Sand Blasting is frequently the blasting method of choice for massively encrusted surfaces which simply cannot be cleaned by softer methods of blasting. Sand Blasting is an abrasive method, however, so this must be always taken into account when estimating the job specifications.
